I am a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) through Gainer Peirce. According to Militia Records of the Comptroller General, Gainer served in the Pennsylvania Militia, Lancaster County, 8th Battalion, 2nd Company, May 7, 1778; Lancaster County, 6th Battalion, 6th Company in 1781; Lancaster County, 6th Battalion, 6th Company May 27, 1782; 4th Company of the 5th Battalion in October of 1784.

Militia Records note he was absent for 12 days and was fined 19 pounds on November 22, 1779. Jane was pregnant with twins Calvin and Cyrus during this period.
